The car we offer for sale is a Lotus Elite, series 2, built in 1961. The first owner was David Buxton, a well-known racer, test-driver and Lotus salesman. Then, in 1984, the car went to Germany to Horst Auer, one of the greatest Elite specialists, before coming to Italy. Giorgio Valentini was the first italian gentlemen driver who bought the car in 1989 and had it for ten years. From 1999 the car belongs to the actual owner, who used the car to race in Italy in the historic cars championship. After a ten years career, the car was fully overhauled and now you can see in it typical british racing green with silver roof. This Elite series 2, left hand drive has the ZF gearbox, a stage 3 engine and dual Weber carbs. The car has a set of Borrani wire aluminum wheels fitted on.
Also available are many spare parts as a Coventry climax engine with 5-bearing cam, two five-bearing cam carriers, a generator, several brake calipers, 4 Borrani wire aluminum wheels and many other parts.
FIA papers expired some years ago and need to be renovated, as for safeties.
This car could be seen in Milano by appointment. Soon detailed photos on www.gulfblue.it
